Evansville African American Museum Heritage Trail

first_imgYou are invited to a special event on Wednesday September 4th, 2019 at 3:30 pm. DMD Executive Director Kelley Coures and the museum’s Executive Director Ashley Jordan are hosting the dedication of the Evansville African American Heritage Trail.  The heritage trail is a walking tour of the Lincoln Avenue neighborhood once known as “Baptisttown”.Dedication speakers include Sondra Matthews, Founder of the museum, Lu Porter, retired Museum Director, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, and DMD Executive Director Kelley Coures.The event will take place on the lawn of the museum located at 579 S. Garvin Street, Evansville, IN 47713. first_imgThe Firefighters Society is accepting nominations until December 15th for a family you feel could use a win this Christmas. – Advertisement -If you would like to nominate a family, email a short write up for your own family or a family you know. The Firefighters Society asks that the email shares a little bit of who the family is, and why they deserve to get selected as one of the families. FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Firefighters Charitable Society wants to sponsor five Christmas families this December 2019.
