Lewis Stakes for three-year-olds at a mile and a sixteenth, the son of American Pharoah’s first start on dirt. The bay colt owned by C R K Stable, LLC has had only two races, both on turf, winning his debut at a mile last Nov. 10 at Del Mar, then returning in Santa Anita’s restricted Eddie Logan Stakes at a mile Dec. 29, finishing fifth but beaten only four lengths.“I thought he deserved a chance on dirt,” Eurton said. “I worked him three times on it and I’m pleased, so we’re going to give it a try. There are no other dirt races for three-year-olds other than stakes, so why the heck not? He’s doing very well.”As to Storm the Court not only winning the Eclipse Award but by such a surprisingly large margin (147-51 over runner-up Structor), Eurton was understandably proud and greatly relieved at Gulfstream Park’s 49th annual Eclipse Awards Dinner on Jan. 23.“I held my breath until they said his name,” Eurton admitted. “I wasn’t going to take anything for granted. I didn’t want to get too excited; that way I wouldn’t be disappointed. They don’t give you any hint in advance that you might win.“My daughter (Britney) has a lot of friends in racing who talk about these things and they thought it would be very, very close, but turns out it wasn’t and that was OK because the suspense made it more fun.”Storm the Court, meanwhile, is scheduled to make his three-year-old debut in the Grade II San Vicente Stakes at seven furlongs on Feb. 9.The Robert B. Lewis, race six on a nine-race card, offering 10 Kentucky Derby qualifying points to the winner: Encoder, (8-1) Mike Smith; Thousand Words, (4-5) Flavien Prat; Tizamagician, (3-1) Victor Espinoza; Royal Act, (15-1) Abel Cedillo; High Velocity, (3-1) Joel Rosario and Zimba Warrior, (15-1) Jose Valdivia, Jr.First post time Saturday is 12:30 p.m.RESTRAINEDVENCENCE SEEKS BIGGEST WIN IN SAN PASQUALRestrainedvengence gets the stiffest test of his career Saturday when he tackles the likes of Grade I Santa Anita Derby winner Roadster in the Grade II San Pasqual Stakes, a major steppingstone to the Grade I Santa Anita Handicap on March 7.Val Brinkerhoff feels the five-year-old gelded son of Hold Me Back is up to the task.“He’s been second in a Grade II (the City of Hope Mile on grass) and third in a Grade III (beaten a neck in the Longacres Mile on dirt),” points out Brinkerhoff, who trains the Kentucky-bred for his wife and valued assistant Kelly, and Bobby Joe Grayson Jr., son of Brinkerhoff’s late longtime friend and associate, owner/trainer Bobby Joe Grayson Sr., who died on Nov. 8.“His last race was his best, a fifth off the track record and Tyler (Baze) had him soft at the wire,” Brinkerhoff added, referring to a front-running 4 1/2-length romp over eight foes in the Zia Championship in New Mexico at the same mile and an eighth distance as the San Pasqual.Restrainedvenence gets a new rider for the race in Abel Cedillo, currently in a ding-dong battle with Joel Rosario for riding honors at Santa Anita’s Winter Meet.“I’m sure he’ll be forwardly placed but he doesn’t have to be on the lead,” said Brinkerhoff, 63, who has 25 head at Santa Anita “and 20 yearlings we’re breaking at my St. George (Utah) training center.”Five of the 19 career starts by Restrainedvengence have come on dirt, where he has won once, that being the aforementioned Zia Park race. He has won four of 14 on grass, earning $360,222 overall.Brinkerhoff is one of the hardest-working trainers in a game that requires unflagging focus 24/7, a former jockey who gallops his own horses be they at Santa Anita, Del Mar, Turf Paradise or his training center in Utah. It all began when he was 14 on a dot on the map called Fillmore, Utah, population circa 2,500.“My dad trained about 30 horses when we lived in Fillmore,” recalled Brinkerhoff, a third-generation horseman. “I was 5-10 and weighed 118 pounds, rode at the smaller venues mainly in Utah and Montana, where I was leading rider, and Wyoming and Fairplex Park (in Pomona).“I’ll never forget the day my dad took me to Pomona. I walked in the jocks’ room and immediately became aware of how tall I was. While in California, Bill Shoemaker gave me one of his whips, which I cherished. I rode many winners with it.“But ultimately, I couldn’t make the weight. I was already skinny and at 5-10 and 118 pounds, I didn’t have an ounce to lose.”The San Pasqual, race eight: Roadster, Joel Rosario (7-2); Route Sixty Six, Jose Valdivia, Jr. (20-1); Restrainedvengence, Abel Cedillo (4-1); King Abner, Flavien Prat (4-1); Midcourt, Victor Espinoza (3-1); Instagrand, Umberto Rispoli (12-1); California Street, Mike Smith (12-1); Two Thirty Five, Ruben Fuentes(8-1); Bold Endeavor, Mario Gutierrez (30-1); and Combatant, Drayden Van Dyke (10-1).JON WHITE’S KENTUCKY DERBY TOP 10Santa Anita morning line maker Jon White formulates a Kentucky Derby Top 10 each week, employing video review and monitoring the opinions of other respected racing observers nationwide. The following is Jon’s most recent Derby Top 10, courtesy of Xpressbet:“Holding the No. 1 spot this week on my Top 10 is Storm the Court, who was voted a 2019 Eclipse Award as champion 2-year-old male. Trainer Peter Eurton continues to get the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner ready to make his return to equine combat in Santa Anita’s seven-furlong San Vicente Stakes on Feb. 9.“Where does Storm the Court rank on some other Kentucky Derby lists?“BloodHorse’s Steve Haskin has Storm the Court at No. 2 on his Derby Dozen behind only Dennis’ Moment.“As for the Top 20 rankings by Gary West (the respected journalist, not the owner of Maximum Security), Storm the Court is No. 10. West, like Haskin, has Dennis’ Moment in the top spot.“Jeremy Plonk, who puts together a weekly Top 20 for Countdown to the Crown, has Storm the Court all way down at No. 14. Plonk’s No. 1 is Honor A.P.“The future book odds released Monday by the William Hill Sports Book indicates just how wide open the 2020 Kentucky Derby appears to be at this point. William Hill’s 8-1 favorite is Tiz the Law. Next on Monday’s list of odds were Dennis’ Moment, Maxfield, Storm the Court and Thousand Words, all at 12-1.“Tiz the Law and Thousand Words both will be running Saturday. Tiz the Law is the 3-5 morning-line favorite in Gulfstream Park’s Holy Bull Stakes, a 1 1/16-mile race that has attracted a field seven. Thousand Words is the 4-5 morning-line favorite in the Robert B. Lewis Stakes at Santa Anita. The Lewis, also a 1 1/16-mile affair, has drawn a field of six.“Trained by Barclay Tagg, Tiz the Law makes his 2020 debut after winning two of three starts as a 2-year-old. The Constitution colt won the Champagne Stakes by four lengths at Belmont Park in early October. Tiz the Law then finished a close third in Churchill Downs’ Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes when he experienced a troubled trip on a wet track in late November.“Thousand Words, a $1 million yearling acquisition, is two for two. After winning a maiden race at Santa Anita in late October for trainer Bob Baffert, Thousand Words won the Los Alamitos Futurity on a wet track in early December. Thousand Words’ sire is Pioneerof the Nile, whose son American Pharoah swept the Triple Crown in 2015. Baffert also trained American Pharoah.“High Velocity, who like Thousand Words hails from the powerful Baffert barn, also is entered in the Lewis. High Velocity, 3-1 on the morning line, finished third in the Los Al Futurity.“Also at 3-1 on the Lewis morning line is Tizamagician, who won a one-mile maiden race by 2 1/2 lengths at Santa Anita on New Year’s Day. A son of two-time Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Tiznow, Tizamagician had been winless in five starts prior to his Jan. 1 triumph. Keep in mind Omaha Beach was winless in his first four career starts, but then reeled off four straight victories. Can Tizamagician similarly go on a winning streak after finally leaving the maiden ranks?“The Holy Bull, Lewis and Aqueduct’s 1 1/8-mile Wither Stakes are the three races Saturday on the Road to the Kentucky Derby.“Topping the field of eight entered in the Withers is Shotski, who is the 2-1 morning-line favorite. He will be making his first start since winning the Remsen Stakes at the Big A in early December. Jeremiah O’Dwyer trains Shotski, whose sire, Blame, won the 2010 Breeders’ Cup Classic by a dramatic head to hand the great Zenyatta the only loss in her 20-race career.“Saturday’s seven-furlong Swale Stakes at Gulfstream does not offer any Kentucky Derby points. Nevertheless, it should be watched closely due primarily to the presence of Green Light Go and Untitled in the field of eight.“Green Light Go, trained by Jimmy Jerkens, will be competing for the first time since he finished second as the 6-5 favorite in the aforementioned Champagne won by Tiz the Law. A son of Hard Spun, Green Light Go won the Saratoga Special last summer.“Untitled, who is No. 10 on my Kentucky Derby rankings, was an 11-length winner at first asking in a six-furlong maiden race at Gulfstream on Dec. 14 for trainer Ralph Nicks. Mark Casse subsequently took over as trainer of the Khozan colt following a private sale in which Gary Barber is now the majority owner. Casse won last year’s Preakness Stakes with War of Will and Belmont Stakes with Sir Winston.“The only race on the Road to the Kentucky Derby last week was Oaklawn Park’s Smarty Jones Stakes, a race worth 10-4-2-1 Kentucky Derby points to the first four finishers. Gold Street won in a 10-1 upset. Three Technique ran second as the 2-1 favorite. Shoplifted and Silver Prospector finished third and fourth, respectively.“Trained by Steve Asmussen, Gold Street led all the way on a muddy track and won by 2 3/4 lengths. It was Gold Street’s third consecutive victory. The Street Boss colt still needs to prove he can succeed on a track that isn’t wet. He is three for three when racing on a wet track. He’s winless in three starts when running on a track that wasn’t wet.“In the Smarty Jones, Gold Street seemingly took advantage of a racing surface that was favorable to early speed. I thought that Three Technique did give a good account of himself to finish second while racing around two turns for the first time. Not only did Three Technique come home willingly, he galloped out strongly. I’m still not as high on Three Technique as some people, but I will be taking him more seriously going forward off his commendable effort in defeat last week.“Meanwhile, Daily Racing Form’s Marty McGee provided an update this week regarding the status of Maxfield. A son of 2007 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, Maxfield is No. 6 on my rankings.“McGree reported Wednesday that Maxfield recently returned to trainer Brendan Walsh’s barn at the Palm Meadows training center in Florida after undergoing rehabilitation at Bridlewood Farm in Ocala, Fla. The colt had a small ankle chip removed after being scratched from the Nov. 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. Maxfield, who is two for two, rallied from ninth to win the Breeders’ Futurity by 5 1/2 widening lengths at Keeneland last October.“Walsh told McGee: ‘He’s back galloping at Palm Meadows and we’ll monitor him this week as to when he can start back working. But he’s done great physically and is moving great, too. We’re going to see how he does, let him tell us where we are with him. I’d say we’ll know a lot more in a month or so. I wouldn’t rule anything out, and I wouldn’t rule anything in. It will be a waiting game with him for a little while.’”The following is Jon White’s Kentucky Derby rankings for this week, courtesy of Xpressbet:1. Storm the Court2. Dennis’ Moment3. Nadal4. Although the Kansas City Chiefs have held sway over the San Francisco 49ers over the past 10 days as a one or 1 ½ point favorite, there were reports out of Las Vegas this morning that the game had moved to “pick-em” for a brief time and then back to the Chiefs as a one point favorite. In what annually serves as a textbook definition of “casual money speaking,” here are some random selections garnered from horsemen this morning at Santa Anita:Brian Beach, agent–“CHIEFS, MAHOMES IS A GREAT QUARTERBACK.”Vann Belvoir, trainer–“CHIEFS.”Jack Carava, trainer–“CHIEFS.”Gary Stevens, HOF jockey–“KANSAS CITY.”Aaron Gryder, jockey–“KANSAS CITY.”Andrew Lerner, trainer–“I’LL GO NINERS.”Ben Cecil, trainer–“I LIKE THE 49ers.”Bruce Headley–“I DON’T KNOW.”Geovanni Franco, jockey–“49ers.”Neil Drysdale, HOF trainer–“NO COMMENT, BUT I GAVE FRANCO THE 49ers.”Keith Desormeaux, trainer–“49ers, EASY MONEY.”Bob Baffert, HOF trainer–“CHIEFS, MAHOMES BABY!”Paddy Gallagher, trainer–“CLIPPERS.”Larry Gilligan, Trakus technician–“I JUST WANT TO SEE A CLOSE, HARD-FOUGHT GAME.”Ron McAnally, HOF trainer–“CHIEFS, BUT I’M HOPING THE 49ers DO WELL.”Dan Landers, asst. trainer–“KANSAS CITY.”Brad Pegram, agent–“49ers BABY!”Ron Anderson, agent–“I’VE BEEN ON PATRICK MAHOMES ALL YEAR.”Craig O’Bryan, agent–“CHIEFS, ANDY REID AND MAHOMES.”Brandon O’Bryan, agent, via telephone–“MY SOURCES INDICATE KANSAS CITY.”More expert analysis to come in Saturday’s Stable Notes!SANTA ANITA HOSTS LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY EVENT SATURDAY Santa Anita will host a fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s fight against cancer in the East Paddock Gardens on Saturday. Sadler Wins Record Third Consecutive Grade I, $600,000 Santa Anita Handicap As His ‘Avis Choice’ Combatant, Wins By A Neck
Sadler Wins Record Third Consecutive Grade I, $600,000 Santa Anita Handicap As His ‘Avis Choice’ Combatant, Wins By A Neck; Ridden By Rosario, He Gets 1 ¼ Miles In 2:02.32 ARCADIA, Calif. (March 7, 2020)–With his defending champion Gift Box scratched late this morning due to concerns over a filling in an ankle, it appeared trainer John Sadler’s quest for a record third consecutive win in the storied Grade I, $600,000 Santa Anita Handicap was a longshot at best. However, Hronis Racing’s second entrant, Combatant, proved equal to the challenge, winning the 83rd running of the Big ‘Cap by a neck while getting a mile and one quarter under Joel Rosario, who was originally scheduled to ride Gift Box, in 2:02.32.Taken in hand out of the gate, Combatant was a joint third, about two lengths off the lead set by longshot Brown Storm heading into the Club House turn. Fourth by a similar margin past the half mile pole, Combatant was on the move around the far turn and was about a half length off the lead a quarter mile from home as Rosario wheeled four-wide en route to a gutsy win, outrunning longshot Multiplier and heavily favored Midcourt late.Originally trained by Steve Asmussen, Combatant was making his second start for Sadler today, following a non-threatening third place finish behind Midcourt in the Grade II San Pasqual Stakes at a mile and one eighth Feb. 1. Beaten some 42 ¾ lengths in his only other start at a mile and one quarter, 18 races back in the 2018 Kentucky Derby, Combatant was off at 9-1 in a field of seven older horses and he paid $21.20, $10.20 and $4.00.Owned by Hronis Racing, who along with Sadler, got their third consecutive Big ‘Cap today, following wins with Accelerate in 2018 and Gift Box last year and had originally engaged Umberto Rispoli to ride Combatant, who picked up $360,000 for the win, boosting his earnings to $1,032,498. (Sadler confirmed that Rispoli would be paid a double-jock mount in the amount of $36,000).A 5-year-old ridgling by Scat Daddy, Combatant is out of Border Dispute, who is by Boundary.Ridden by Tyler Gaffalione, Multiplier, who was most recently a close fifth in the Grade II San Marcos Stakes at a mile and one quarter on grass Feb. 1, battled gamey at the rail the length of the stretch, outrunning Midcourt by a half length. Off at 33-1, Multiplier paid $28.00 and $6.40.Midcourt, a smashing 3 ½ length winner of the San Pasqual, seemed to regress off that effort, returning $2.20 to show while off at 3-5 under Victor Espinoza.Fractions on the race were 23.66, 47.87, 1:12.37 and 1:36.99.

Because of their style of play, when they grab a goal, they do tend to go on and dominate. In the Bundesliga this season, they have scored first 11 times, winning ten and drawing one.
For the fourth week in succession the Titans gave up a double-digit lead to their opponents with Johnathan Thurston scoring a try and kicking three goals to get the North Queensland Cowboys out to a 10-0 lead after 19 minutes on Saturday night. It is an exact repeat to their start to the 2016 season where they also gave up double-digit leads in their first four games yet while last year they clawed their way back to win two games in the opening month in 2017, they have just the one win and sit in 12th place on the Telstra Premiership ladder. That they were able to fight back and actually lead 12-10 after 32 minutes against the Cowboys is a testament to their ability to get back into a contest but no team in the NRL can expect to start at least 10 points behind each week and win more than half their games.”Obviously we need to look at our starts again and try and get an even share of possession at least, or even get it going our way and we haven’t been able to do that so far this year,” Henry said.”I don’t know if you’ve got the answer to it. I don’t think there’s any magic formula.”We talked about starting better but if you gift a bit of field position at times…”I thought the halves were fast and direct and we played some entertaining football but also some good football. We really tested their defence but we needed a bit more possession and we needed to stop them when they got up there a couple of times.”We’ve used a lot of energy and Ryan [James] and Jarrod Wallace are playing big minutes up front and doing a lot of work.”We feel if we can get that possession our way that our attack’s good enough to worry other teams.”The opening 20-minute onslaught where the Cowboys enjoyed an 80 per cent share of possession and failed to make a single error came back to haunt the Titans late in the first half when they conceded two tries in the space of five minutes to trail 20-12 at the break.A try to winger Tyronne Roberts-Davis 15 minutes into the second half narrowed the margin to four points but two tries to towering Cowboys back-rower Coen Hess again shot North Queensland out to a 16-point lead. While the 17,000 fans in attendance and those watching at home marvelled at the 20-year-old’s brute force to push past four Titans defenders to score both of his tries Henry was ruing a goal-line defence that couldn’t stop him from scoring.”When you make contact with a player carrying the ball six or seven metres off the try-line and you can’t stop that ball being put down and there’s a number of players around, we’ve got to be better than that,” Henry said.”There’s no excuses for not stopping that ball getting over the line just by being underneath it.”If we did that a couple of times on Coen Hess then the score might have been a bit different.”Henry made some late adjustments to his starting side prior to kick-off with Tyrone Roberts moving out of hooker to start at fullback in place of Tyler Cornish and Ryan Simpkins being promoted off the bench to start at hooker. With first-choice hooker Nathan Peats not expected back for at least another fortnight and Karl Lawton playing 30 minutes just two weeks after suffering a dislocated shoulder, Henry indicated that it is that formation that is likely to line up against the Warriors next Sunday in Auckland.”[Roberts] does get a bit of room out there to move and he carries the ball well so he can chime in. He’s got a good pass so I think that’s a good spot for him,” Henry said of Roberts’ shift to fullback.”He’s had to be a bit of a utility for us but he’s good back there.”The major injury scare for the Titans was a shoulder injury to lock forward Agnatius Paasi who left the field after 24 minutes and took no further part in the game.
The two-year agreement between the two confederations was signed in Mexico City by AFC president Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa and OFC president David Chung in the presence of AFC general Secretary Dato’ Windsor John and his OFC counterpart Tai Nicholas.Chung says the partnership, which pledges cooperation on football development, education and competitions, allows the two confederations to exchange information, experience, knowledge and best-practice across these matters.“This is an excellent opportunity to draw on the knowledge and experience across the 47 AFC member associations, while we can share the expertise we possess in Oceania,” Chung says.“This is the beginning of a symbiotic relationship which will benefit all of our member associations. I would like to thank my counterpart and the AFC executive committee for your commitment to the betterment of football.“We are incredibly excited to be collaborating with one of our closest neighboring confederations and we are looking forward to the advantages the strengthening of our relationship will bring,” he says.“The exchange of knowledge, experience and resources coupled with the benefits of competitions and tours will be far-reaching across Asia and the Pacific.”A key objective is to raise the standard of football in both confederations and Chung says development will be at the forefront of achieving this.Salman said: “At AFC we have always believed that all confederations must work together – both big and small – to reunite the game under the FIFA flag.“Only then can we restore confidence and trust of the people in football – and particularly those who run football.”Chung was in full agreement.“Our vision is to work together with AFC to create solid development plans and strategies which will create the foundation for both OFC and AFC to continue on our respective upwards trajectories in the global arena.”
From the goal the Cup returned, with a more active Madrid, on the back of Vinicius, an essential figure. There is no deeper player in the squad. He repeated again and again without anyone accompanying his arrivals. Valverde, Ramos and Marcelo were also close to the goal. In return, Zidane’s team seemed as long as the worst day, with the trio upstairs lazy in the fold. That opened a highway to the Real in the backlash.Ramos took all the offensive licenses and Marcelo delivered too far back. He has lost the angel. Casemiro’s absence enlarged one and the other. And then Isak appeared, who studies for Ibrahimovic and progresses properly. In eleven minutes he scored three goals, the first invalidated by the VAR and the other two valid. Big striker, volley goals (after great play by Barrenetxea, far superior to Januzaj) and right-handed to the squad.A 0-3 like that kills anyone, but nobody like Madrid has come out alive from lunges like that. A quick goal from Marcelo, in clear error of Remiro, surpassed by his stick, put him back in the game. To the team and the public, for whom the epic is adrenaline. It lasted ten minutes. What it took to leave at the fingertips of the squad a shot of Vinicius, the most involved in the cause, and in shooting Merino to Areola in sending of Isak, the almighty of the party. The case was seen, but there is no competition with more progress than the Cup or player with more faith than Vinicius. They annulled a goal and gave another to Rodrygo, in a Bernabéu that flew from resignation to illusion. In the discount, Nacho minimized the white handicap. Of that Real daring of the beginning there was hardly anything left. Imanol had been collecting candles with the changes and managing time. The one that has run out of Madrid in this Cup. Zidane had rebuilt Madrid from back to front, shrinking the team, making him defensively responsible, inventing Valverde, raising Casemiro to the generalate. And suddenly, in the Cup, his damn competition, the worst of the past appeared to him: a gurpolargo, untied back, without order or concert, with Marcelo and Ramos in their worst versions. That, before a team from head to toe like the Real, did not slip, despite the heroic final onslaught. From the Bernabéu came out reinforced Odegaard and decorated Isak. Vinicius, again in highs, was no consolation.Zidane has mutated the traditional alignment of convenience in alignment of coexistence, which leaves the present outdoors to make the future better. It is in danger. He has used the Cup to keep Marcelo and James alive, players of great past and little future, so he can arrive; so that Areola remains in a state of alertness, although what he alerted this time was his presence; for Modric, Casemiro and someone else to cure fatigue and stress, common occupational diseases football; and for some to complete the master. Vinicius and Brahim, fundamentally. The Malaga is a player of craftsmanship and also of immediate uncertain future because it lacks continuity. Bale, suspected of severe escaping in the eyes of the public, now looks out of that coffee for everyone. It will be difficult to mend that emotional gap.So that hybrid team, mixed holders and substitutes, with more silk than corduroy, crashed into a very recognizable Real that only kept Portu, the top player of his squad in the sum of goals and assists. But the Imanol team is excellent in both areas and its average age provides a very long journey. In the white memory was that first swampy part against Atlético with five midfielders. So Zidane widened the field with Vinicius, his foreign affairs ministry, and placed Brahim as the third medium, behind James. It was an acceptance of the asymmetry with two half-pointers with more style than work and greater exposure to danger before a team of ammunition left over. That did not work out. Brahim played little as a team. James is on the verge of total disconnection, although he left a great shot that Remiro guessed. At the start, in any case, he lacked the cupper outburst. Madrid arrived with objections, without going straight to the point, and Real followed it, with soccer content and waiting for the error of others. He found it soon, halfway through the first part. Areola was wrong twice, first by rejecting badly a distant shot from Isak and then swallowing the satin and centered shot of Odegaard, who was on the rebound. The ball entered passed between his legs, a gesture that always snubes a goalie. The Norwegian complied with the code of good conduct of the loan and did not celebrate it. Feel close your return.

The striker played his last ten minutes on November 10 in a match against Espanyol. A cervical disc herniation made him go through the operating room and since then he has been convalescent with the aim of being able to help the team in this knockout round of the Champions League against Liverpool. The team missed him, so much that the club tried to sign a substitute in the January market. Cavani was the goal, but the ten million offer made by the rojiblancos could not move the Uruguayan from there. Now the Champions returns and Costa returns to the call. History repeats itself. Last season the striker was also intervened, this time on a toe, and arrived in February. The difference is that this time he could play half an hour in the League match against Lightning, before being in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Juventus.Simeone then played the mistake and included the starting battering team against the Turinese, although he acknowledged that he was not ready to play the 90 minutes. Costa played one of his best games in Atlético and was substituted, but saw a yellow that prevented him from playing the lap. The list of summoned to be measured with Liverpool tomorrow is formed by: Oblak, Adam, Arias, Lodi, Giménez, Savic, Felipe, Hermoso, Vrsaljko, Thomas, Koke, Saúl, Lemar, Vitolo, Llorente, Carrasco, Morata, Correa and Costa. The grandfather wanted to watch football on television but did not know how, since he had to follow a pattern of buttons on his remote control. The game caught temperature every minute that passed and, little by little, Ajax was cornering Getafe. His thrust was not sometimes reflected. Actually, since 1-1, Ajax did not test Soria again. Getafe shook those minutes of fear and threw palante. In the same minute (36 ’) but in two different plays, Getafe could score 1-2 but found the wood. First in a header from Mata who hit the crossbar and then in a shot from Deyversosn who repelled the post right of the goal of Onana. Ajax, scared like a child. The Getafe grown in enemy camp, because at rest he had finished more times than the locals, seven times by five.He continued to risk Ten Hag putting more pepper on the grass with the entrance of Promes after the break Huntelaar later. Precisely, the exsevillista was about to score in a header in the 58 ’. Notice. There was half an hour left and the Getafe endured, but a few minutes later the nerves would return when marking Eiting for lack with the collaboration of Olivera. 25 minutes ahead with the goal of not fitting two goals, as 3-3 gave the eliminator to the Blues for the double value of the goals in the opposite field.Onana, goalkeeper who left Barça in youth, is not the most orthodox, but one of the most fortunate, a condition that is always positive for a goal. In 72 ’when Maksimovic’s shot was over, the post spat the ball walking from side to side. Third blue finish that repelled the wood.Ajax ruled on the scoreboard, but it was Getafe ruled on the grass. From 2-1, the Dutch did not knock on the door again. Yes it was Mata who, without a goalkeeper, failed to overtake Blind. It would have been the lace. Getafe lived the best night of his life. Pure rock and roll in Amsterdam with a goal at the start of the game and happiness at the end, because he eliminated Ajax, a four-time European Cup champion. The outcome had a dose of anguish at the end, because 2-1 compromised the azulones, but the soldiers of Bordalás knew how to defend the 2-0 of the Coliseum. A club and a humble team, Getafe, leaving out of Europe an almighty, four-time European Cup champion which represents one of the best soccer schools in history. Bordalás repeated the team that won in the Coliseum. Why play what worked well. Ten Hag arranged a bold alignment that clearly indicated his offensive intentions. Discharge due to Ziyech’s injury, your most unbalanced and talented player, He fixed it by locating Danilo, a 20-year-old Brazilian forward who plays in the subsidiary and had debuted in the first team last Sunday jumping into the field in the 72nd minute. Before his people, Ajax had to give up his bad game in the Coliseum, where in addition to losing 2-0 he did not throw once at the door. Ajax was in a hurry and chose the shortest path to reach the goal of Soria. A long ball from Onana was followed by another by Blind. Ajax playing patadón? Yes, Ajax playing patadón. Or long balls, if you want to be finer. It was clear to Ajax that the ball should not circulate through the center of the field, where Arambarri and Maksimovic steal everything that rolls. In minute 5, a throw-in by Cucurella towards Deyverson and extended by the Brazilian ended up in Mata’s goal. The Madrid striker was ahead of Lisandro Martínez, shorter and less stout and who defended the play badly. Mata ate the toast and ended up marking cross-shot.
