We’ve called Red Cross to provide assistance for a family of four,” Land said on the site.Land said the fire emanated from what appeared to be an add-on room in the rear of the residence, and that add-on had a fireplace in it, but on the scene Land said the cause of the fire was still undetermined.“I think they had removed some things when we were en route. But obviously some of their belongings have been damaged by the fire, heat and smoke,” Land said.Land said crews were dispatched to the scene at 3:15 p.m. and got to the scene, nearly 13 miles south of downtown Odessa, at 3:28 p.m. He added the crews knocked down the fire “relatively quickly” upon arrival.
