Evansville African American Museum Heritage Trail

first_imgYou are invited to a special event on Wednesday September 4th, 2019 at 3:30 pm. DMD Executive Director Kelley Coures and the museum’s Executive Director Ashley Jordan are hosting the dedication of the Evansville African American Heritage Trail.  The heritage trail is a walking tour of the Lincoln Avenue neighborhood once known as “Baptisttown”.Dedication speakers include Sondra Matthews, Founder of the museum, Lu Porter, retired Museum Director, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, and DMD Executive Director Kelley Coures.The event will take place on the lawn of the museum located at 579 S. Garvin Street, Evansville, IN 47713.
